Disclosures
1. Broker Relationship Disclosure
Ashmont Insurance Agency LLC ("Ashmont") is an independent insurance broker, not an insurance company or carrier. In our role as your broker, we represent you — the insurance buyer — not any particular insurance carrier. We work with multiple carriers to find coverage options that meet your business needs.
Because we are a broker and not a captive agent of any single carrier, we are not authorized to bind coverage on behalf of insurers. Coverage is bound only upon written confirmation from the insurance carrier. All policy terms, conditions, exclusions, and premiums are determined solely by the carrier.
2. Compensation Disclosure
Ashmont is compensated for our brokerage services primarily through commissions paid by insurance carriers when a policy is placed. Commission rates vary by carrier and line of business, and are typically a percentage of the policy premium. This compensation does not increase the premium you pay — it is built into the carrier's rate structure.
In some cases, Ashmont may also earn:
- Contingent or profit-sharing commissions from carriers based on overall book profitability or volume thresholds;
- Service or administrative fees disclosed separately on your policy documents.
You have the right to request specific information about the compensation Ashmont receives in connection with any insurance transaction. Please contact us at info@ashmont.insure with any such requests.
3. Licensing Disclosure
Ashmont Insurance Agency LLC holds active insurance broker/producer licenses for commercial property and casualty lines. Our licenses are issued under applicable state insurance laws and are subject to renewal and regulatory compliance.
To independently verify our license status, contact the relevant state Department of Insurance or visit the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) at nipr.com.
4. No Guarantee of Coverage
Requesting a quote through this Site does not guarantee that insurance coverage will be offered, bound, or issued. All applications are subject to underwriting review and approval by the insurance carrier. Carriers reserve the right to decline applications, modify terms, or cancel coverage in accordance with applicable law and policy terms.
Ashmont does not guarantee the solvency or financial strength of any insurance carrier. We recommend you review the financial ratings (e.g., A.M. Best) of any carrier before purchasing a policy.
5. Technology-Assisted Services Disclosure
Ashmont uses proprietary technology and digital tools to assist in gathering business information, generating insurance quotes, matching coverage options, and improving our services. These tools are intended to enhance efficiency and provide better recommendations.
Technology-assisted outputs are reviewed by licensed insurance professionals before any coverage is recommended or bound. Our technology does not replace the judgment of a licensed broker. Final coverage recommendations and decisions are made by Ashmont's licensed advisors in accordance with applicable law.
If you have concerns about the use of automated technology in your transaction or wish to work exclusively with a human advisor, please contact us directly at info@ashmont.insure.
6. Errors & Omissions
Ashmont Insurance Agency LLC maintains Errors & Omissions (E&O) professional liability insurance to protect clients in the event of a covered error or omission in our brokerage services. This coverage is separate from the commercial insurance policies we place on your behalf.
7. Surplus Lines Disclosure
Certain commercial risks may be placed with surplus lines (non-admitted) insurers when coverage is unavailable or insufficient in the admitted market. Surplus lines insurers are not covered by state guaranty funds, which means that in the event of carrier insolvency, claims may not be paid by a state guaranty association. We will notify you if your coverage is placed with a non-admitted carrier.
8. Anti-Steering Disclosure
Ashmont does not steer clients toward any particular carrier based solely on the level of compensation we receive. Our carrier recommendations are based on coverage suitability, price competitiveness, carrier financial stability, and your stated business needs.
